Daytona
Brian Rosati, RN is the president of Guardian Pharmacy of Daytona in Ormond Beach, FL. Brian has been with Guardian since the pharmacy’s inception in 2007. Prior to Guardian, Brian was the director of account management, then director of operations for NeighborCare Pharmacies in Pittsburgh, PA and Daytona Beach. His nursing background affords him key insight into how your business works, and how the pharmacy can positively affect your operations.
Wendy Fletcher, PharmD is the director of operations for Guardian Pharmacy of Daytona. Wendy started with Guardian in November of 2009 and was promoted to director of operations in May of 2011. Prior to coming to Guardian, Wendy was a pharmacy manager for Walgreen’s Pharmacy.
Darra VanAlstyne, CPA, is the director of finance and administration at Guardian Pharmacy of Daytona, and has been with the pharmacy since 2012. Her prior experience includes serving as controller at US Foods and a senior accounting manager at Pall-Fluid Dynamics division. Darra has a Masters of Accountancy degree from Stetson University and holds an active Certified Public Accountant license.
Jacksonville
Khristy McClelland, RPh, is the president of Guardian Pharmacy of Jacksonville. Prior to launching Guardian Jacksonville in 2004, she was the Florida senior director for Central Pharmacy Services, Inc. She leads her team with proven business abilities and a focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
Laura Polinsky, Pharm.D, joined Guardian Pharmacy of Jacksonville in May 2011 and serves as the director of operations. Her previous experience as a pharmacy supervisor and area manager with CVS/Caremark has brought additional insight and perspective to improve customer service and operational efficiencies.
Karen J. Martin, CPA, is the director of finance and administration. Prior to joining Guardian Jacksonville, she managed her own successful public accounting practice for over 20 years, which she sold in 2013 before joining the City of DeLand as an assistant finance director. During this time she served on the board of the Florida Governmental Finance Officers Association (FGFOA). Karen brings a solid blend of financial accounting, customer service and management experience to the team, and is strongly aligned with the pharmacy’s mission. She graduated from University of Central Florida with a bachelor’s in business administration/accounting.
Georgina Kalaitzis is the business development specialist at Guardian Pharmacy of Jacksonville. She joined the team in May 2014 and brings a diverse background in sales and marketing with fresh and creative ideas. Our customers appreciate Georgina’s enthusiasm and drive to deliver exceptional service. She was born and raised in Jacksonville and earned her bachelor’s degree in communications from Jacksonville University.
William Posten is the director of purchasing and analytics at Guardian Pharmacy of Jacksonville with over 18 years of pharmacy experience. He joined the team in June 2012 with an extensive background in analytics and procurement practices to maximum value for our residents. Additionally, he works closely with our national support center in Atlanta to provide detailed analytics relating to purchasing support to our locations across the country.
Jerry Talarico, CPHT, is the client service and relations manager at Guardian Pharmacy of Jacksonville. Jerry is CORE certified and has a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Florida. Jerry joined the team in September 2013 and brings a bright personality and true compassion to our team, facilities and their residents.
NW Florida
Robert Dunn, RPh is President of Guardian Pharmacy of NW Florida, one of Guardian’s newest locations. Mr. Dunn’s credentials include a BS in Pharmacy from the University of Mississippi; a Six Sigma Black Belt earned at Villanova University and an MBA (in process) from the Kelley School of Business of Indiana University. He has more than 14 years of experience in pharmaceutical sales and marketing at Eli Lilly and in long-term care pharmacy management. Most recently, he served as president of Tara Pharmacy, where he was responsible for a three-pharmacy operation.
Cindy Dent, RPh joined the Guardian Pharmacy of NW Florida team on March 1, 2012 as Director, Pharmacy Operations. Cindy comes to us with nine years of experience in the long-term care sector of pharmacy, and over thirty years of progressive career growth in retail and mail order pharmacy. Cindy received her BS in Pharmacy from Auburn University and most recently was the Director of Pharmacy Services for Tara Pharmacy SE in Birmingham, AL.
Sue Garrett joined Guardian Pharmacy of Northwest Florida in 2014 as the director of finance and administration. She previously held accounting positions of increasing responsibility for more than 30 years in manufacturing, where she managed billing and collections, revenue cycle processing and administrative areas including staffing and retention. Sue received her B.A. in Accounting and her MBA from the University of West Florida. Crestview is home for Sue and her family.
Ali Wiggins, director of sales and marketing, attended Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Florida and is a graduate of Chipola College. Her background is in pre-pharmacy, health information management and business administration. She has 27 years of experience in the pharmacy business and spent the last 22 years working in long-term care. She has an extensive background in customer service, medical records and pharmacy operations, and customer retention.
Orlando
Alan Obringer is currently the president of Guardian Pharmacy of Orlando. Prior to joining Guardian, Alan spent the last 9 years of his more than 20 years of experience in pharmacy working with the Senior Care Pharmacy in Lakeland. Alan worked in community pharmacy for CVS/pharmacy for 12 years, spending 7 years as a district pharmacy supervisor throughout the state of Florida. After his time with CVS, Alan joined Walgreens for 2 years, serving as a pharmacy manager in Pinellas County, Florida.
In 2002, Alan was licensed as a consultant pharmacist and worked as an independent consultant while performing his community pharmacy duties. Alan also holds a faculty position with the University of Florida, College of Pharmacy as an Assistant Clinical Professor, since the fall of 2002. He currently teaches sections of several classes including Geriatrics, Introduction to Pharmacy and Healthcare Pharmacy Skills Lab and Pharmacotherapeutics. He became a Certified Geriatric Pharmacist in 2012 and serves as a preceptor for pharmacy students, offering both a Geriatric and Long-term Care practice site.
Alan earned his pharmacy degree from the University of Rhode Island. As a member of the Florida Pharmacy Association, the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists, and Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity, he is a strong advocate for the profession of pharmacy in long-term care and is very involved in the changes that affect our industry. Alan’s variety of experiences and involvement in his profession make him uniquely qualified to aid our customers in producing the highest level of clinical outcomes while reducing costs for our residents.
Jill Daly is the director of sales and marketing of Guardian Pharmacy of Orlando. Prior to joining the Guardian team, Jill worked for Senior Care Pharmacy of Florida for five years as the director of sales and marketing. In addition to the long-term care and pharmacy operations, she has over 21 years of experience in health care sales and marketing, including an extensive background in the hospital and outpatient surgery settings. Her unique and creative ideas have contributed to building long-term relationships with customers and earned her Salesperson of the Year in 2016. Jill earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of South Florida. She was born in Lakeland, Florida, where she currently resides with her husband and two sons, ages 18 and 14.
Carol Craig is the business office manager at Guardian Pharmacy of Orlando. Prior to joining Guardian, she worked for Central Care Pharmacy, Westminster Communities of Florida and Kindred Healthcare. She has more than 14 years of industry experience and knowledge in specialized billing, customer service and pharmacy operations, which will contribute significantly in providing the personalized care our customer’s expect and deserve. Carol currently lives in Orlando with her husband and son.
SE Florida
Alan Traster, RPh, is the president of Guardian Pharmacy of Southeast Florida. Alan has 35 years of experience in long-term care as a consultant pharmacist, former owner of a long-term care pharmacy, regional vice president of Omnicare and a principal of a hospice company. He is a nationally recognized speaker on regulatory compliance in the long-term care setting and has spoken before the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists.
Carrie Ackerman, RPh is Director of Operations for Guardian Pharmacy of SE Florida. Carrie has more than 20 years of experience in retail, mail order and long-term care. She has extensive management experience.
Charmaine Munnings is the assistant director of pharmacy operations at Guardian Pharmacy of Southeast Florida. She has more than 20 years of experience in pharmacy, spending her first 14 years with a nationwide retail chain as a pharmacy trainer and training development specialist. More recently, she has become a recognized authority in the field of medical records.
Assura Chauhan, RN, is the director of education and compliance for the facilities served by Guardian Pharmacy of Southeast and Southwest Florida. In this role, she offers optimal customer service delivery for the pharmacy and assists with building and sustaining relationships with the communities Guardian serves. Responsibilities include providing continuing education credits and staff training; acting as a liaison between the pharmacy and communities in order to identify and recommend best practices; and working with facilities to identify opportunities in internal and external processes, helping to facilitate smooth, team-oriented relationships. She practiced in the Broward Health Hospital District for four years prior to joining Guardian.
Ken Paulsen, director of finance and administration at Guardian Pharmacy of Southeast Florida, is a financial executive with over 15 years of experience in financial statement preparation, budgeting and forecasting. He has extensive background in establishing effective internal controls. His strong problem-solving, analytical, communication and management skills have been a great addition to Guardian and our customers.
Debi Schulman, who serves as Director of Business Development for Guardian Pharmacy of SE Florida, has more than 15 years of long-term care experience. Deb is the founder and former owner of First Choice pharmacy and is an expert in transition as well as the long-term care industry.
Andrea Schillinger has been Senior Account Manager for Guardian Pharmacy of SE Florida for the last five years and has more than 20 years of pharmacy experience all told. As head of our transition team, Andrea is responsible for understanding the needs of each facility and for tailoring our pharmacy programs to meet those needs. She is also responsible for coordinating the facilities’ education programs.
SW Florida
Mike Klein, RPh, is the president of Guardian Pharmacy of Southwest Florida. Mike has over 35 years of experience working in retail settings, hospitals, institutional and long-term care pharmacies and is dedicated to providing residents the best pharmaceutical choices at the best savings. Mike is a member of the Florida Assisted Living Association (FALA) and is actively involved with Susan B. Andes Clinic and Pharmacy of Charlotte County (formerly St. Vincent DePaul Pharmacy) serving the needy with pharmaceutical help. He graduated from the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Pharmacy in 1981 and currently lives in Charlotte County with his wife, Donna, and four children.
Mary Crowe, C.Ph, is the Director of Operations for Guardian Pharmacy of Southwest Florida. After Graduation from the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Pharmacy in 1989, Mary joined her brother Michael Klein at Lemon Bay Drugs. In 1996 she then obtained her consultant Pharmacist license. After more than 10 years working in a retail pharmacy, she then became pharmacy manager of Patient Care Pharmacy in 2001. Active in pharmacy practice for more than two decades, Mary has a special interest in long-term care pharmacy. She is an active member of the Florida Assisted Living Association (FALA) and the American Society of Consultant Pharmacist. Mary enjoys spending time with her son, Danny, family, friends and her dog, Oggie. Her hobbies include traveling and winding down with a good book.
Tampa
Rob Taymans, RPh is the President of Guardian Pharmacy of Tampa, which he opened in 2008. Rob has over 15 years of long-term pharmacy management experience in the state of Florida. He has also been involved in policy and regulatory issues on both state and national levels.
Brad Holman R.Ph. has been Pharmacy Operations Manager of Guardian Pharmacy of Tampa since 2009. Brad has been involved in long-term care pharmacy operations since 1985. He has held management positions with Kindred, NeighborCare, Vencare and Medisave, and draws on his extensive long-term care experience to manage the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy.
David Stroup, vice president of operations and finance at Guardian Pharmacy of Tampa, joined the team in August of 2012. Prior to joining Guardian, David was the senior director and assistant controller for Horizon Bay Retirement Living, where he was responsible for all accounting and financial reporting functions for a portfolio of 96 long-term care communities. David has more than 19 years of accounting and finance experience in various industries including manufacturing, real estate and long-term care. He grew up in Ohio and received a BBA in both accounting and finance from the University of Cincinnati. David moved to Florida in 2003.
Rhonda LaForce, RN, BSN is the Nurse Account Manager for Guardian Pharmacy of Tampa. She has been with Guardian Pharmacy since 2010. Prior to joining the Guardian Pharmacy team, Rhonda worked with Kindred Pharmacy Services as the Nurse Consultant, and with NCS Healthcare Pharmacy as the Nurse Educator & Nurse Consultant. She is an approved Continuing Education Provider in the state of Florida. Her background includes working as a Director of Nursing Services in Portland Oregon, and Admission Nurse Liaison for Genesis Healthcare in Florida. Her strong background in both long-term care facilities and long-term care pharmacies enhances the outstanding customer service provided by Guardian Pharmacy of Tampa.
